Vladimir Putin will NOT be kicking out more than 30 U.S. diplomats in retaliation for President Barack Obama expelling Russian diplomats and seizing two of its estates.
After all Obama’s tough talk about Russian hacking, the whole world expected Obama to hit back. And hit back hard.
Now, this could have been a sticky situation what with two world powers going at each other. Could have turned very quickly into a major international incident.
But because Obama is so weak and ineffectual, it ended up being more keystone cops than international showdown.
After Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats, and Russia talked about doing the same, as tensions around the globe rose, something very unexpected happened.
Yesterday, Putin’s foreign minister announced a tit-for-tat response was going to take place, but the Russian president says no such action will be occurring. Putin has opted to wait a few weeks to discuss the evolving hostilities between the two superpowers with President Donald Trump.
The Russian president appeared eager to hold off making any moves until Barack Obama vacates the White House.
“It is regrettable that the Obama administration is ending its term in this manner,” Vladimir Putin said. “Nevertheless, I offer my New Year greetings to President Obama and his family.”My season’s greetings also to President-elect Donald Trump and the American people. I wish all of you happiness and prosperity.”
Earlier today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov appeared on Russian state television to discuss the sanctions levied upon the country by President Barack Obama.
Lavrov described the sanctions as “antics” which Russia would not let go by without an appropriate response.
The Obama administration included the alleged Russian hacking of Democrat Party emails in the list of cyber attacks that prompted the levying of sanctions.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also stated the Obama administration has offered up zero proof of Russia being behind the cyber attack on the Democrat Party emails.
Both the Kremlin and WikiLeaks have stated Russia was not behind the hacked emails.
The two Russian properties in the United States are located in Maryland about 90 minutes from Washington, D.C. and in New York. Only about two hours after the Russian president shared his proposed plan of retaliation, Vladimir Putin stated he was not going to kick out the American diplomats.
First time ever a sitting American President has been humiliated in such a way. Thanks Obama
